Art Smarts is a workshop
for grandparents, parents and teachers who want to encourage creativity and
artistic awareness in children. You will learn a vocabulary to teach children
about their art, and a way to talk to them about the merits of their art. When
they ask, "Is this good?" you will have the words to talk about their
strengths and their specific style of creativity. You will also take with you
ideas for art projects that you have tried yourself. Most materials will be
provided. In addition, you will receive a short materials list at the first
class.
The workshop will meet
from 1-4 PM over four Saturday sessions: January 26th, February 2nd, 9th, and
16th and will be held at DIVA 280 W. Broadway. An advanced registration fee is
$45 is required and mailed by check to DIVA, PO Box 10855, Eugene 97440.
Deadline: Monday, January 21st.
